Annual Fire Safety Statements
Don’t wait until you get a nasty reminder from the council
Are you using the council’s reminder letters as your AFSS prompt?
When it comes to preparing for your Annual Fire Safety Statement, you have one of three options:
01.
Dedicate a part of your team to managing Fire Protection contractors (or add it to your list)
02.
Wait until the council sends you a rude reminder letter, then panic.
03.
Hire Fireproof Fire Protection experts to take care of everything for you.
All too often, businesses defer to number 2, the wait-till-we’re-drowning to learn how to swim approach (no offence, running a business is hectic– we get it!).
The main problem with this (as well as unnecessary stress) is that it could be costing you money.
When you wait till the last minute to fix an issue, you’re leaving yourself with less time to source the best, most cost-effective means and products to carry out the repair and most likely incurring rush fees from technicians to get it done on time.
Enter FireProof.
We use advanced specialist software to build your schedule of maintenance and inspections around the date of your Annual Fire Safety Statements, ensuring that nothing gets forgotten and you’re never unprepared.
Because everything is digitalised, you’ll get electronic reminders when your next major inspection is due, and full transparency throughout the maintenance and testing process so you can easily keep track and see that everything’s being managed smoothly.
Our multi-skilled technicians have gone through rigorous and extensive training so we can offer you a complete range of testing and checks when on site.
You don’t have to deal with multiple visits from trades, you get a streamlined service, and you save time.
Lift the burden of responsibility that comes with Fire Protection System management and ensure the safety of your team and the future of your business.
Don’t leave it to chance.
- Save time – don’t waste your time trying to keep up with maintenance, testing & legislation.
- Save money – our specialist team can handle it in a quarter of the time (or less).
- Peace of mind – our expertise and advanced software systems mean your back is covered in the event of a fire in your building.
The official scoop
The Annual Fire Safety Statement (AFSS) comes under Part 9 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000 and must be carried out by an Accredited Practitioner (Fire Safety)* (ahem, WE know a few).
It must be displayed in your building and submitted to the local council and the Commissioner of Fire and Rescue NSW.
Our streamlined system works around the date of your AFSS to ensure that when that time of year creeps up again, you’re ready like Usain Bolt on the starting blocks.
*Pre March 2021, Accredited Practitioners (Fire Safety) were known as Competent Fire Safety Practitioners, or CFSPs.
